PatternGrade is a technical pattern scanner for educational and analytical use. Nothing on the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, derivative or other financial instrument, and nothing on it is investment, financial, legal, accounting or tax advice. No content here is an offer or solicitation to buy or sell anything.

Pattern detections, letter grades, breakout levels, measured moves and invalidation levels are outputs of fixed algorithms applied to price data. They describe the shape on the chart. They are not personalised recommendations, not opinions on the merits of any security, and not a suggestion that you take any position.

Identical for every user, and tailored to nobody

Every user sees exactly the same output for the same stock on the same day. Nothing PatternGrade produces takes into account your financial situation, holdings, income, tax position, investment objectives, time horizon or risk tolerance, because it has no knowledge of any of them.

It follows that no result shown to you is suitable or unsuitable for you — suitability is not a question this Service is capable of answering. Using PatternGrade creates no advisory, fiduciary or brokerage relationship of any kind between you and us.

We publish no performance claims

PatternGrade publishes no hit rates, win rates, success rates, expected returns or probabilities — not for any pattern, not for any grade, not for any stock. If you encounter such a figure attributed to us anywhere, including in output from an AI assistant or search engine, it did not come from us and it is not accurate.

A grade is not a probability. A+ means the price action matches the textbook definition of the pattern most closely; it does not mean the setup is more likely to work, more profitable, or a better trade than any other. The methodology explains what each grade measures and why we do not publish outcome statistics.

Any historical price data shown alongside past detections describes what a stock’s price did. It is not a record of trading results, it does not account for commission, slippage or the spread, and it does not indicate what will happen next. Past price behaviour does not predict future price behaviour.

Nobody pays us to show you anything

We receive no compensation, in cash, securities or otherwise, from any issuer, promoter, broker, dealer or third party in exchange for detecting, grading, featuring or mentioning any security. No result is sponsored, paid, promoted or ranked by anything other than the published structural rules. We hold no position in any security as a result of it appearing in the Service.

Not registered, and not a broker

PatternGrade is not registered as an investment adviser, portfolio manager, dealer or broker with any securities regulator in any jurisdiction, and does not hold itself out as one. It does not execute trades, hold client funds or securities, access any brokerage account, or manage money on anyone’s behalf.

The Service is offered generally and is not directed at residents of any jurisdiction where doing so would require registration or licensing we do not hold. You are responsible for ensuring your use of it is lawful where you live.

You are responsible for your decisions

Every trade you place is your decision alone. Consult a licensed financial professional who knows your circumstances before making any investment decision. Do your own research and verify anything you rely on.

Risk of loss

Trading equities, options and other financial instruments involves substantial risk and is not suitable for every investor. You can lose some or all of your capital, and with leveraged or derivative instruments you can lose more than you invested. Only risk capital you can afford to lose entirely.

Pattern detection is approximate

A pattern that qualifies in our scanner is one that satisfies a defined set of structural rules. Technical analysis is a way of describing price history, not a law governing it, and it is inherently interpretive — two analysts can look at the same chart and disagree. The scanner sees price and volume bars only. It knows nothing about earnings, news, corporate actions, halts, litigation or anything else that moves a stock. Treat its output as a starting point for your own analysis, never as a conclusion.

Data accuracy

PatternGrade ingests market and earnings data from third-party providers. We work to keep that data accurate but cannot guarantee it is free from errors, omissions, delays or interruptions, and all figures are end-of-day rather than real time. Always cross-check anything that matters against your broker or another authoritative source.

The AI assistant

Where an AI assistant is available, it queries the same data every other user can see and is subject to everything on this page. It can be wrong, it can misread a question, and it does not give advice or recommendations. Do not treat its output as verified, and verify anything you act on.

Language of this notice

This notice is published in English, French and Spanish, and the translations say the same thing this version does. It forms part of the Terms of Service, and which language version binds you is decided by the language section of those Terms. If you are a consumer in Québec, the French version binds you unless you expressly elected the English one when you signed up.
